It's 1969,
the year I scored my first huge smash hit with 'Mendocino'.
But there was another artist who also made it big the same year
- my producer, Giorgio Moroder. He sold well in excess of a million
copies of his single 'Looky, Looky'.
That's when we decided to work together.
In those days, Bubblegum music was the latest fad in the States,
so we gave it a try to make it happen worldwide. We had a Top 10
hit in Japan with 'AMERICA AMERICA' but the reaction elsewhere was
lukewarm. That's why we didn't record a second Spinach album.
Anyway, we have had a lot of fun recording our one and only album.
We hope you, dear listener, will share our sentiments.
Chers.
