Call ME ( Moroder - D. Harry ) was a super-hit.
Mister W.A.M. is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A re-arranged version
of a Clarinet-conzert.
Giorgio originally asked Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac to
contribute lyrics and vocals to the lead song for the American Gigolo
soundtrack. Steve was unavailable and Moroder asked Deborah Harry,
lead singer of Blondie, the group who had recently burst out of
the New Wave/post Punk scene with a slinky disco/punk smash Heart
of glass. Harry accepted and quickly wrote lyrics and contributed
lead vocals to create the central track "Call Me".
"Call Me" was a pop smash with 6 weeks at #1 and the soundtrack
album hit #2 for 5 weeks on the Disco chart beginning April 12,
1980.
The song "Call ME" was performed by several other artists
such "Until December" with a version dated 1986.
