"Take My Breath away" won the Oscar for Best original Song and the Golden Globe for Best original song.
This was the 3th Oscar on Moroder`s career. This Song was "Song of the Year 1986" and Nr. 1 on the U.S.A. Charts.
On the same week, on the Single-chart was "Take my Breath away " on place 2 and "Danger Zone" on place 5, not bad :)
Harold Faltermeier had a nomination for the Golden Globe for the music score.

Review
Maverick and Goose are two naval fighter pilots who have shown to be the very best among their squadron. They are selected to go to the U.S. navy fighter weapons school known as Top Gun. There they will be trained to be even better and must compete against the best qualified pilots in the world Maverick falls in love with their instructor, Charlie whos interest in him started when she wanted to know more about his earlier experience with a Russian Mig.
